Croydon is home to one of the largest commercial districts in Greater London.

It offers a range of retail outlets, local boutiques, farmers’ markets and the Surrey Street market which was established in 1276. For those looking for some high-street retail therapy Croydon’s Whitgift Centre, Central Shopping Centre and Valley Retail Park are all large shopping centres and easily accessible.

Croydon is also popular for Boxpark, the iconic food, culture and social hub.  Since 2016, Boxpark Croydon has hosted some of London’s largest events, such as Stormzy’s album launch, the Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz fight, the 2018 World Cup and the Euros 2020 and it continues to attract people from all over London.

Apart from Boxpark, Croydon has its fair share of nightlife with a large selection of bars and pubs. There is a diverse selection of eateries from street food, and fine dining to live events and many of the spots are family-friendly.

Croydon has many parks, open spaces and even 10 golf courses. There are also plenty of cultural places which are great to visit such as the Museum of Croydon, Croydon Clocktower, Queen’s Gardens and Shirley Windmill, a Grade II listed tower.

East Croydon station (zone 5)  is one of the busiest train stations in the country with six platforms and regular services to London Victoria in around 24 minutes and London Bridge in as little as 13 minutes, as well as Gatwick Airport and Brighton.

West Croydon station (zone 5)  connects directly to London Bridge in journey time from as little as 18 minutes and is part of the London Overground network providing direct access to East London.

South Croydon station (zone 5) connects directly to London Victoria in around 16 to 20 minutes and London Bridge in as little as 19 minutes.

Sanderstead station (zone 6) connects directly to London Bridge in as little as 22 minutes and London Victoria in as little as 23 minutes.

Purley Oaks station (zone 6) connects to London Victoria in 27 minutes and London Bridge in as little as 22 minutes.

Tramlink
Since 2000, Croydon has operated an efficient Tramlink service connecting central Croydon with places such as Elmers End, Wimbledon, New Addington, Mitcham Junction and Beckenham Junction.
